The more we see, do, and experience, the better informed and more empathetic we become. Less stressed and better community members? I'm sold.

If extensive travel isn't in the cards for this summer, you can still reap all these benefits by taking "micro-adventures" and adopting an adventurer's mindset.

Start with small shifts. Listen to a new radio station or artist and build a habit of having more adventurous taste in music. Same goes for trying new recipes, restaurants, or vegetables... there is no need to overcomplicate things (but trust me, I get it...).
Think of your afternoon off or staycation as a "micro-adventure." Experience your own community as a tourist, visit the bookshop you regularly pass by, pack a picnic and eat lunch in your local park, go to the movies solo. Perhaps framing your time, regardless of how limited, as an adventure will put you in the right mindset to step out of your comfortable routines.
Let your curiosity guide you. Even adults need a "yes day" now and then! Rather than setting a rigid itinerary for your next adventure, let your curiosity and interest lead you from one stop to the next.
